Root and bulb vegetables

Crops such as Radish, Carrot and Crops from the Allium family. All these vegetables are mainly sown. Their growth and yield can be enhanced by a structure that maintains the hygrometry necessary to improve the germination rate. Fleece with good homogeneity can prevent damage and compaction in the soil structure. Combined with rain this can cause the formation of a "crust" that is hard for seedlings to pierce. Crop cover creates a good thermal effect which improves seedling growth.

Radish are sown and covered with one or two layers of fleece from November to early April enabling harvest typically 10 to 21 days earlier (depending on the period and the number of layers). Novagryl 19 is recommended in open fields for the appropriate balance of elongation and thermal protection. To avoid phytosanitary problems, Agryl P17 is particularly recommended under cover. Insect protection net can be laid until harvest.

Rutabaga

Usually protected in March and April, crop cover can reduce harvest by up to 2 weeks. Recommended crop cover is either low or medium weight Agryl, to balance a good thermal effect with air renewal. Insect protection net can be laid until harvest.

Turnip

Turnip

Protected during sowing over the winter period Turnips should be covered for 7 to 8 weeks. Medium weight Agryl is recommended depending on location to balance a good thermal effect with air renewal. Insect protection net can also be laid until harvest as part of a systematic approach to pest control.

Carrots

Carrots

Early carrots are sown and covered  in the open field in February-March.
The development of the root is influenced by the temperature, therefore the use of fleece improves the commercial yield.
Fleece can accelerate harvest by 12 to 16 days.
As carrots require an elastic  fleece that keep humidity, Novagryl 19 is recommended to improve the germination.
The fleece is remained until the 6-7 leaf stage.
Insect protection net can be laid until harvest.

Onion

Onion

To protect sowing from January to April against crusting and to increase the early commercial yield. The fleece is laid until the 3 leave stage.

Fennel

Fennel

Planting out from mid-March to the beginning of April and covered for 5 to 6 weeks. Because fennel is sensitive to high temperature, Agryl 17 or 19 gsm is recommended to ensure a high air flow. The crop will be early (8 to 10 days) and uniform. The risk of bolting is also reduced.

Celeriac

Covering for 6-8 weeks with Novagryl or middle weight Agryl outside and 2- 3 weeks with Agryl under cover allows a uniform and early crop, an improvement in the early commercial yield and a reduction in losses caused by bolting.

Beetroot

Beetroot

Sown from February to April depending on the area, beetroots are covered until the 4 - 6 leaf stage (about 5 weeks). The use of Novagryl increases the early saleable yield, the uniformity and the earliness (15-20 days).
