Leaf and stem vegetables

These vegetables can be either sown or planted. Planted crops are generally sensitive to shocks caused by temperature and humidity variation. Using a floating row cover can significantly reduce the risk of these shocks. Sown crops require a fleece to reduce crusting and maintain the humidity and thermal effect necessary to have a uniform germination. They generally have an important vegetative development.

French Endive/Witloof

French Endive/Witloof

Novagryl is recommended to cover early sowing (mid April) to enhance the germination rate (its "closed" structure maintains a good hygrometry) and to increase the quality and the earliness of the roots (thermal effect). As a softer surface and an important vegetative development crop Novagryl 19 is the ideal fleece to protect Endive.

Asparagus

Asparagus

Requires a high thermal effect and an elastic fleece that is resistant to daily covering and uncovering during harvest, requiring Novagryl 19 or a mid weight Agryl.

Leek

Leek

As a high growing surface crop, the elongation of
Novagryl 19 is recommended during the covered periods from March - April. After approximately 5-7 weeks of cover, harvest should be accelerated by 10-15 days. Fleece could also be an effective protection against frosts in the late season.

Lettuce

Lettuce

Planted and protected from November-December to March-April, lettuce requires the room to grow. Novagryl 19 is recommended in the open field. Agryl P17 is recommended under cover for its breathability. The use of fleece allows the production of lettuce in both greenhouses and in the open to give an extended supply season. The commercial quality and the uniformity of the yield is also improved.

Spinach

Spinach

Protection should be used from February to April when this soft crop requires a good thermal layer and elastic properties to avoid damage to fragile leaves. Novagryl 19 or mid weight Agryl is recommended. The uniformity and growth period of the crops are improved, and the risks of bolting is reduced.

Parsley

Parsley

To have an early harvest (1 to 2 weeks), Parsley should be covered in the first planting in the spring for 4 weeks and the first sowing for 6 to 8 weeks. To protect the autumnal Parsley against cold, cover it 3 weeks before harvesting. The soft uniform Novagryl 19 provides optimal cover in the open field, Agryl P17 is better under cover.

Lamb's lettuce

Lamb's lettuce

Sown in autumn (September-October) for winter growth. The crop is covered until harvest (January to March). The leaf development and the commercial productivity and quality is improved during winter production.

Endive

Endive

Planting out from mid March to April, Chicory is covered until the "hearting" stage. The commercial yield, the uniformity and the earliness (1 to 2 weeks) are all enhanced.

Agryl P17 (17gsm)

Agryl P17 (17gsm) ►

Agryl 17 uniquely combines the open structure and breathability required for strong growth with light weight strength for a wide range of agricultural crops and farming environments. Proven over 30 years Agryl is routinely used year round in over 40 countries.

This product offers extended durability and thermicity for farmers who required strong performance in continuously exposed environments. Typically this will farms in more northerly countries, those planting sensitive crops in more demanding climates or installations with significant exposure to winds.

Overwintering often exposes crops to high variations in temperature and prolonged exposure to damaging combinations of rain, wind & frost. Novagryl P30 offers a high thermal efficiency (thermicity) of 24% - 3 times greater than a standard Polyethylene film. combined with increased mechanical properties specifically to counter these conditions.

Open Fields

Open Fields ►

Open Field applications require a robust fleece design with the ability for farmers to specify the exact performance requirements for their needs. Strength, moisture and light management and durablity are all critical.

Green Houses & Plastic Tunnel

Green Houses & Plastic Tunnel ►

In glass house application, insect barrier, light transmission and shade are key to ensuring higher yields, less spoiling and closer control of the growth process.

Micro Tunnels

Micro Tunnels ►

Micro tunnels manufactured with Agryl are commonly used in the growth of Tomatos and Peppers, where creating localised micro-climates with sufficient vertical space for plant growth is required.

Black Mulch

Black Mulch ►

Mulching improves plant growth by suppressing weed growth whilst creating a warmer, more robust soil environment for crop growth.
